Personal stories

Some of the people involved in our monitoring programme have generously shared their stories about living with hepatitis B.

Moving on with life

Robert, 63, has had one crazy journey. He has worked as a hairdresser and make-up artist since he was 22, lived in Hong Kong for 15 years, battled cancer, had two liver transplants and lived with hepatitis B and C for more than two decades.

Staying healthy for the kids

Clarke, 39, lives in Waihi with his wife and four teenage sons. He found out he was a hepatitis B carrier when he was 18.

Don’t give up, take care of yourself

William, 46, is infected with hepatitis B and C and HIV after being given contaminated blood during emergency surgery at age 14.
